I mentioned my blog on Facebook and Alex says I might want to talk about how there aren't any pictures on my camera that don't have Lillian in them. The rechargeable battery wore out in my other camera. The camera was not uploading to the computer hardly at all anymore. You had to restart the process over a dozen times, hold the camera just right, with just the right amount of pressure, hold your breath and...and...and...and...UGH! Try again. Plug into a different port and start the whole process over again. Finally Brian bought some type of memory reader that would sometimes give up the pictures to the computer reluctantly. So, when the rechargeable battery died and a replacement was almost as much as a new camera I started the internet search.
I ordered the camera online from a technology specialty store, opting out of shipping fees by picking it up at the store. This seems like such a win-win situation. Upon arriving at the store I follow the arrows on the signs and stand in line. Oh, so sorry, you need to be in THAT line over there. Still smiling at this point, I move over. The customer service representative appears to be in a fairly good mood considering the crowd. I approach with my smile and a greeting, hand her the paperwork I printed off my computer. She goes over to the G-M section, looks around, moves some items over, starts to acutally take boxes out of the cabinet, comes over to confirm my last name...next she heads back to the digital camera department and comes back with the camera I ordered. I am happy and ready to get out of here because now I am running late for my sister's house. The representative is continuously putting the same numbers in the computer and obviously not getting the result she wants...asks me a few questions, tries to get a supervisor on the phone...who at this point more than likely really does NOT want to hear about another problem. She leaves the area completely and the back of her head is getting smaller, smaller, smaller...she turns a corner and is out of sight! I am standing there on both feet...switching back and forth from foot to foot...leaning against the counter...people behind me are getting restless...restless turning to questioning looks...now transforming into anger...they all move to another lane...an innocent person approaches and I suggest they go to the other lane because I have now been waiting over 20 minutes. At this point I am wondering just how much I want that camera! I ask the other representative to find the lady helping me because I am late and need to leave, still smiling and trying to stay calm, it isn't the representatives fault this is a mess - with or without the new digital camera. Ahhh! There she is. The company is having problems with their computer updates. I can either wait around for it to update or I can buy the camera out right and call them to take it off my order. Sounds good, I buy the camera and head for my sisters. Once there I get on the phone to tell the online service to take the camera off the order and keep the warranty on the order. The operator is telling me the wait time is less than 10 minutes...for 15 minutes...now the wait time is less than 20 minutes for another 25 minutes! Ok, success, I am talking with a human...take the camera off and keep the warranty on. When I arrive home I have an email that the warranty has been removed because the camera was removed...didn't my human know that!!! The next day I am back to the physical store and buying the warranty!
I have been using the camera for less than a month but LOVING it!!! The pictures of my granddaughter who was born 10 short days ago are GLORIOUS!!! She may be the only thing I can focus on at the moment. As soon as we have something outside other than muddy snow, muddy ice, muddy yard and muddy cement...fog in the morning, fog in the afternoon and fog at night...did I mention the mud...
You be the judge...wouldn't that be the only face on your camera right now?!?! Here is the important thing to remember at this time. I am either actually learning some lessons with Celebrate Recovery and turning situations over to God where I obviously have NO control, not getting upset with people who obviously have NO control or I am simply getting too old to keep a thought in my head long enough to remember that I might be getting mad. I prefer the CR option.
