Five Months

Could it be that I honestly have not been on here for FIVE months? What has been going on? Well, I am deep into the Celebrate Recovery experience and loving it. School started and I am deep into the whole PTSA President and responsible for the football concession stand. And the best thing ever - Brian and I are going to be Grandparents!!!
This last week Alex came out to the garage while I was working with a baby bunny in her hands. She was craddling it so lovingly with a serious look of concern in her eyes. Alex had already checked it out to make sure that our dogs had not taken a bite out of the poor little thing. The worst that had happened was that Zoey slobbered all over the six inches of wonder. I had Alex put the bunny in a box and go wash her hands. She is pregnant - what was she thinking picking up a wild animal?!? In her mind she was rescueing a baby - OH, the Mommy instincts are taking over!
Back into the back yard we go - Alex, Tuck and myself. We are looking all over for the nest lest our anxious dogs find the bunny siblings. A few days earlier Allie had a successful hunt with a rabbit that we are now thinking could have been this bunny's mother. Upon finding none I called a friend who raised rabbits - 'What to do?' Take the bunny to a local vet. In the car, with box in tow, went Alex and Tuck. When they got home the story was that the vet wouldn't take the bunny but sent them to the nature center at Swope Park. At the nature center they said the bunny was old enough to take care of itself. Alex and Tuck headed out to the trails to set the bunny free. The little thing hopped right back to them! So they went a little farther down the trail and let it free again. We are praying the bunny found some friends and is safely enjoying life at the park.
Maybe I can get back into the swing of getting on here at least once a week.
